This is story from my archives. Back in the 90′s my buddy Jim Parks and I did a story on Jim and Peter Mayer. The Mayer brothers are the sons of Lutheran missionaries. They grew up in Tamil Nadu, India. Today they play bass and lead guitar for Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band.

Jim Quattrocki and I recorded this footage in Nekemte, Ethiopia, a small market town west of Addis Ababa. The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus is a Lutheran Church that began in Eritrea in 1899 when Swedish missionaries arrived.

Shalom Singers: I Count on God


Valerie Mossman-Celestin Executive Director of Haitian Artisans for Peace Internatinal (HAPI) asked me to produce three music videos in Musac, Haiti with the Shalom Singers. HAPI is an UMCOR funded fair trade artisan co-op focused on spirituality and creativity. The Shalom Singers are a group of young adults associated with HAPI.

This video was recorded at a local hotel. We were running out of daylight and finished recording just as the sun set over the mountains!
