Every now and then, I think back on a visit Jim Quattrocki, Bob Elliott and I made to Alaska’s Seward Peninsula in September, 1994. Eskimo Testimonies is a 7-minute video we produced for Mosaic, the video magazine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
We spent 12 days touring Eskimo villages like Brevig Mission, Wales and Shishmaref, meeting its people and recording their stories.

Moody Radio Testimonials

My friend Bruce Everhart asked me to help tell the story of Moody Radio by recording a series of testimonials with listeners and on-air staff. Moody Radio owns and operates 35 radio stations with a Christian perspective on the news, interactive talk, teaching and inspirational music.
In Chicago we interviewed Anita Lustrea and Melinda Schmidt, co-hosts of Midday Connection, Greg Wheatley, host of Prime Time America and Sound of Majesty, and Mike Kellogg host of Music thru the Night.
Then, Bruce and I took a road trip to Indianapolis, Indiana and Chattanooga, Tennessee where we interview Howard at his Transport for Christ trailer at a truck stop off of I-65. In Chattanooga we interviewed Dale, a man who came to faith in Christ in prison through the help of Moody Radio.

Honoring Veterans

Here are two short videos I produced this year while working on separate projects for Lutheran Life Communities and the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin (ELCA) Book of Faith Initiative. Both stories reference the everyday heroism, faith, fear and loss experienced by veterans of every generation. Nick Zanini served in Europe during World War II. James Homme served in Korea.

During the Korean war, Jim found himself occupying a forward observation post along the 38th parallel. “In the daytime it was a lark,” Jim relates. “But at night, it was terrifying.” In the video we see how Jim found comfort in the 27th Psalm. www.frakesproductions.com
